ESLI’s First Semester at Sullivan University!

“On behalf of Sullivan University – Greetings!  We are happy to announce that the first English as a Second Language (ESL) class began on Monday, September 25, 2017 and is fully underway at our main campus location in Louisville, Kentucky,” says Cortney Tudor, Associate Director of International Partnerships and part of the international admissions team at SU. This is the first semester for ESLI at SU, and we couldn’t be more excited!
ESLI at Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky, opened with orientation and placement testing.  Here, students learned about ESLI’s expectations and policies, a little about American culture, and took an online test that will help ESLI faculty determine which level each student will begin in.  Once testing was complete, they received their class schedule and books and were officially ready to start classes!

Director Ms. Lacie Zahradnik was on hand to guide students through their first days at ESLI, and get them started with their lives in the US.  “We are so excited to have ESLI students on campus,” said Ms. Z.  “During orientation all of the students have gotten the chance to know each other and the staff. They are making friends with each other quickly. I am excited to work with such a great group of students!”

Ms. Z has been with ESLI since 2011, when she taught writing for ESLI at TAMUCC in Texas. She served there as lead instructor, assistant director, and director. Now she has come to Louisville to serve as director of ESLI at SU, and students couldn’t be luckier to be working with this cheerful and friendly ESLI veteran.

It’s a great time to be an international student with ESLI at Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky! Cortney Tudor, had this to say about Sullivan University and the inaugural semester of ESLI at SU: “This is an exciting time for the university. We are pleased to collaborate with ESLI on this endeavor and look forward to a strong partnership in the months ahead. The proven success and outstanding reputation of ESLI guided our efforts and we look forward to offering students seeking an education in the United States the opportunity to find a university and ESL program that fits their needs.”
